A proud Board Member of the Student Volunteers Foundation of Malaysia (Yayasan Sukarelawan Siswa – YSS), owned by the Ministry of Higher Education – Michael was given the opportunity to volunteer across 22 countries in 2011, after emerging as the Global Youth Champion for the Your Big Year, a Global Volunteerism, Entrepreneurship & Citizenship competition which saw Michael, the youngest participant at the age of 23 years old then, bested 45,000 competitors from 168 countries. Since then, he has led YSS’s missions to Laos, Vietnam, Sabah, Sarawak and has been involved actively with the training sessions conducted for YSS’ volunteers. An Educator at Heart, and an Entrepreneur in mind, he has combined both his Passion and Profession as the Founder of Thriving Talents, an international award-winning talent development company, with a rich clientele of Fortune 500 companies, spreading across 39 countries, with their track-record of having trained more than 100,000 young leaders to lead their organisations and societies better, since 2012. Recognized as a Global Top 100 Learning & Development Coach of the Year 2017, this youthful Malaysian Educator & Entrepreneur, has amassed an accolade of achievements in recognition of his consistent contributions in the fields of Human Resources development, Capacity Development for the Underprivileged, and his keen interest in Volunteerism. Since 2010, Michael has been recognized as one of Malaysia’s National Youth Icons, with his appointment as an ‘Ambassador’ for both IM4U and Negaraku, Malaysia’s Most Enterprising Youth by the Global Entrepreneurship Week, PRESTIGE’s Top 40 Under 40 and had even landed his name in the Malaysian Book of Records, CNN, BBC and the United Nations. From his work in Human Capital development, he had also shifted his expertise towards Leading Positive Change among the world’s most celebrate leaders, by his appointment into various Boards, often being remarked as one of the Youngest Board of Advisors for major organisations. He is the Global Advisor for Microsoft ‘YouthSpark’ in Seattle, U.S.A., the Economic & Entrepreneurship Advisor to the World Youth Government in Geneva, Switzerland and a Board Member with the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Malaysia.
